New Year, New Fonts…a Type Geek’s Dream

Check out the latest newsletter from MyFonts’ Rising Stars.

Good fonts are such a critical part of what we do. And 2016 has been a banner year for the art and craft of typography. We saw some rising stars in the font world this spring, followed by some hot new contenders announced in July and October; it’s basically been a field day for fonts this year.

This month is no exception, and we are excited to share MyFonts’ Rising Stars December newsletter.

“What better way to approach the impending new year than with a bunch of fresh and imaginative new type families that explore changeability, transition, reinvention and fluidity?” writes the MyFonts’ staff.  “Our selections this month capture all these concepts, from a sophisticated sans that balances precision with an approachable character, to a sharply-cut serif family that is as crisp as the first frost on a bright winter’s day.”

One of our favorites is Between, which offers a huge amount of flexibility in design. Also highly appealing is Bells, by Russian design Ivan Gladikh. It would look fantastic on posters or other large-format projects.

The entire list is worth a look, and you’re bound to come up with some good inspirations. Enjoy, and go create something gorgeous.
