Magazine ads are a lot like seals. They lounge around not moving, looking smooth and oily, and sometimes people look at them. Here’s some we’d like you to look at.
Launched in 2011, the Glossy Awards recognises excellence and creativity in magazine advertising. Now in its third year, the 2013 Glossy Awards is getting a little bit French with Cannes socialite Margeaux DuPont. Entries close on 23 July. To kick things off, here’s M&C Saatchi executive creative director Ben Welsh: Choosing the top five magazine ads of all time is an impossible task – partly because I don’t know if the work was magazine or print, but since it’s the Glossies let’s assume magazine – but here’s mine off the top of my head with ‘brutal simplicity of thought’ the common thread.
